Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Chairperson of the Higher Committee for Preparing the General Environment for Citizens’ Return, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, and Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, inaugurated the Bank of Khartoum branch on Africa Street in Khartoum. The event was attended by State Government Secretary-General Al-Hadi Abdal-Seed and Director of Branch Administration at the Bank of Khartoum, Al-Tijani Karrar.
According to Sudan News Agency, Lieutenant General Jabir stated that the branch opening is part of the decisions by the Higher Committee for Preparing the Environment for Citizens’ Return, signifying a recovery in banking and economic activity in the capital. He mentioned the existence of a comprehensive database for smart applications to facilitate customer interactions with banks, improve financial operations, and enhance state institutions’ performance in fee collection and financial services.
Lieutenant General Jabir urged all banks in the country to reopen their branches in Khartoum State and implement financial policies that support economically beneficial projects, increase individual income, and generate added value.
Wali Ahmed Osman Hamza highlighted the significance of banks returning and new branches opening in the capital, indicating recovery and the restoration of financial institutions, which aids in accelerating the return of citizens and economic sectors. He noted that this reflects the stability of security and administrative conditions in Khartoum State.
He further stated that resuming banking activity is crucial for revitalizing the local economy, facilitating fund movement, and financing commercial, industrial, and service activities. He emphasized that the state government is coordinating with the banking sector to establish a conducive work environment and provide necessary facilities for restarting economic and service institutions.
The Wali described the Bank of Khartoum branch opening on Africa Street as the beginning of a new phase of economic recovery for the state, urging all banking and financial institutions to return to their locations and contribute to economic and living stability for citizens.
Al-Tijani Karrar, Director of Branch Administration at Bank of Khartoum, affirmed the bank’s readiness to offer comprehensive banking services. He explained that the Bank of Khartoum’s policy is focused on developing smart systems and programs to align with global banking sector developments and provide high-quality services.
Karrar announced the bank’s plan to reopen all its branches in Khartoum State soon, reiterating the Bank of Khartoum’s commitment to supporting state and national efforts to stimulate the economy and expand banking services to all citizens.
