Sudan’s Diplomatic Efforts Gain International Attention

Khartoum:Sudan's Foreign Minister, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem, emphasized the country's diplomatic efforts to promote the government's vision on international stages and correct misleading narratives about Sudan's situation. He noted a growing response from various countries to Sudan's position.

According to Sudan News Agency, the minister highlighted that the government has been proactive in sharing its perspective, starting with initiatives from the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and culminating in a proposal by the Prime Minister to the UN Security Council. He noted the government's clear stance on issues, which has been gaining traction internationally.

The Minister pointed out positive indicators, such as the accreditation of European ambassadors and appointments of Sudanese ambassadors to European countries. Additionally, delegations from Asia, Africa, the Peace and Security Council, and the Great Lakes region have visited Khartoum, showing support for Sudan's position. These efforts counter narratives like the 'two generals' war' and who initiated conflict, which have been spread through well-funded platforms.

Ambassador Salem criticized a departure from key international principles, such as non-interference, state equality, and human rights, which are foundational to the United Nations system. During Sudan's participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, these positions were reiterated, with a call for genuine equality among states.

He underscored that Sudan's foreign policy is directed towards serving the nation's and its people's higher interests, aligning with the country's African, Arab, and Islamic affiliations, and coordinating with regional allies to address shared challenges.
