Khartoum:The Sudanese national under-20 football team received an official reception at Khartoum International Airport upon their return as champions of the CECAFA Youth Championship. The welcoming ceremony was attended by Professor Ahmed Adam Ahmed, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Babiker Ali Yahya, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in Khartoum State.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister of Youth and Sports congratulated the team on their achievement and praised the exceptional performance of the players, as well as the technical, administrative, and medical staff. He highlighted the determination and fighting spirit that propelled the Falcons of Jediane to victory.
Professor Ahmed Adam emphasized that this triumph, along with the team's qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Under-20s, is a significant milestone in Sudanese football history. He noted that it showcases the potential of Sudanese youth to achieve success and elevate Sudan's standing in regional and continental sports arenas.
Dr. Babiker Ali Yahya also congratulated the team, commending their efforts and the support from all involved. He stressed the importance of continued investment in youth teams and the development of young talent.
Both officials extended their congratulations to the Sudanese Football Association, players, and all staff members who played a role in securing this victory.
