Port Sudan: The Sudanese government has issued a stern warning to media outlets, both domestic and international, against promoting agendas that could threaten the stability of the nation. The Minister of Culture and Information, who also serves as the Official Government Spokesman, emphasized the need for neutrality and objectivity in media coverage related to Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister conveyed this message during an enlightening session organized by the Ministry of Defense in Port Sudan. He highlighted the government’s willingness to collaborate with reputable media organizations and assured that Sudan would remain open to those adhering to professional journalistic standards. The government, he stated, would provide necessary support to such media outlets while urging them to follow objective and professional principles in their reporting.
The spokesman further warned that any media institution failing to comply with journalistic ethics would face suspension. He emphasized that
the government would not hesitate to act against those violating these values, especially in light of the ongoing media war. Some media institutions, he noted, have allegedly supported militias deemed terrorist by the government, with backing from countries interested in destabilizing Sudan.
Expressing the government’s firm stance, Al-Aiser rejected any media agenda that could weaken or fragment the state. He called on citizens to unite against any threats, emphasizing that the current struggle is a joint effort between the people and the military.
