Sudanese Foreign Minister Advocates for National Solutions and Excludes RSF from Political Future

Khartoum:The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem, emphasized that resolving the Sudanese crisis requires a Sudanese-led approach, advocating for comprehensive national dialogue as the key to sustainable peace. He asserted that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia would not be included in any future political arrangements.

According to Sudan News Agency, the minister highlighted Sudan's political solution vision presented to the UN Security Council and reaffirmed the country's commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of its people. He commended the Armed Forces and supporting forces for their sacrifices in defending Sudan.

Salem praised the committee preparing for the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and urged political and societal forces to support and participate in the dialogue efforts. He expressed openness to welcoming fighters returning to the homeland and political opponents willing to engage in the peace process.

He also emphasized the importance of broad participation in the post-war phase, particularly from youth, women, and active societal sectors, asserting that building peace is a collective societal responsibility. The minister called for leveraging the knowledge and expertise of Sudanese abroad for national reconstruction.

Discussions with the UNDP leadership in New York have been held regarding knowledge transfer and the return of skilled professionals to Sudan. Salem underscored the significance of peaceful coexistence and addressing the war's social impacts, promoting a culture of peace through community platforms and various institutions.

He concluded by highlighting the potential for Sudanese efforts at home and abroad to contribute to building a stable and peaceful society, fostering good international relations, and excluding those seeking to exploit the country through mercenary means.
