Khartoum:Education in Sudan remains accessible to all citizens, with no discrimination against students based on their relatives' actions, according to Khalid Al-Eisir, the Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Eisir spoke at a media briefing at the International University of Africa in Khartoum, emphasizing that the state ensures educational access irrespective of the political affiliations or actions of students' family members. He addressed claims by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia that they provided services and security in their controlled areas, including hosting Sudan Certificate examinations. He pointed out that children of militia members were allowed to sit for exams in government-controlled schools, illustrating the state's commitment to education for all.
Al-Eisir highlighted Sudan's maturity and responsibility as a nation, stating that the Sudanese people and government do not penalize children for the crimes of their parents. He reiterated that education remains a right for every child in Sudan, even for those whose relatives are involved in armed movements against the government. The minister stressed that Sudan has consistently offered educational opportunities to all, regardless of their familial connections.
