Pakistan: Pakistan affirmed its full support for Sudan's sovereignty and unity, expressing solidarity with the Sudanese people and its desire to help rebuild the country's industrial and agricultural infrastructure. Despite a decline in trade due to the ongoing war compared with 2022, when Sudan's exports to Pakistan amounted to $88 million and imports stood at $51 million, trade activity has recently begun to recover, with Sudanese exports reaching $5 million and pharmaceutical imports from Pakistan totaling $38 million.
According to Sudan News Agency, speaking on Monday at the Dialogue on the Recovery of Sudan's Private Sector, Pakistan's Ambassador to Sudan, Atif Sharif, said Pakistani companies are seeking to resume cooperation, including the import of high-quality Sudanese cotton and legumes, in exchange for supplying Sudan with agricultural equipment and tractors. Islamabad is also ready to transfer its expertise in Islamic banking, digital warehouse management, technological solutions, artificial intelligence, and e-governance.
In the energy and health sectors, Pakistan provides solar energy solutions to support the agricultural sector, in addition to cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing and the rehabilitation of damaged Sudanese hospitals, as well as partnerships in meat and poultry processing. In line with these efforts, the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Pakistan-Africa Economic Council proposed signing memoranda of understanding with the Sudanese side to regulate contracts and resolve commercial disputes, thereby strengthening partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries.
