Moscow: The Ministry of Energy and Oil has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Initiatives in Oil and Gas Technology of Russia, alongside the Russian Energy Week occurring from October 15 to 17. The MoU was signed by Eng. Mohamed Awad Al-Khair Mohamed Salih representing the Ministry, and Mr. Nikolai Kuznetsov, Director General of the Russian institute.
According to Sudan News Agency, the agreement is designed to boost cooperation in the energy and oil sectors, focusing on standards and specifications, conformity assessment on related topics, and commercial activities within the industry. The signing was witnessed by the Minister of Energy and Oil, Eng. Al-Mutassim Ibrahim, Sudan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mohamed Al-Ghazali Siraj, and other officials from the Ministry of Energy.
The MoU outlines the creation of joint committees to implement necessary standards and conduct international conformity assessments in energy and oil fields. The Ministry’s committee will collaborate with the Russian side to develop proposals on mutual interests concerning conformity systems and standards development in the oil and gas sector.
This agreement signifies a step forward in Russia’s involvement in developing standards systems. It underscores the importance of collaborating with Russian technical experts, especially in training engineers and technicians in this crucial field.
