Minister of Health Praises Distinguished Relations with India in the Health Sector

Port sudan: The Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, praised Sudanese-Indian relations, describing them as distinguished, particularly in the health sector, and highlighting the special nature of joint cooperation between the two countries in this field.

According to Sudan News Agency, in press statements following his meeting on Tuesday in his office in Port Sudan with a delegation from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs visiting the Red Sea State, headed by Suresh Kumar, representative of the Indian Ambassador to Sudan, the minister outlined the scale of the diverse support provided by India to Sudan during the period of war.

Dr. Haitham explained that this support included the establishment of a prosthetics camp that benefited around 600 people across Sudan, in addition to providing training opportunities for Sudanese medical personnel in India in specialized medical fields, as well as promoting medical tourism between the two countries.

The minister added that the meeting resulted in an agreement to continue working on prosthetics camps and to strengthen partnership in the pharmaceutical sector, paving the way for the signing of bilateral agreements in these areas in the near future.
