Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Discusses Cooperation with UNDP Official

Khartoum:Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid met with Abdullah Al-Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States, during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Undersecretary emphasized Sudan's commitment to enhancing its relationship with the UNDP, acknowledging its role as the country‚¬„¢s largest development partner. He expressed gratitude for the UNDP's support in sectors such as health, clean energy, water, and agriculture.

Discussions also focused on utilizing development financing funds, contributing to a strategic recovery plan, and conducting a comprehensive assessment and roadmap for the recovery of the energy sector. The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to continue cooperation and coordination with various UN mechanisms and programmes, and Abdullah Al-Dardari's visit to Sudan in early February was welcomed.
