Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Discusses Cooperation with ICRC in New York

New York:Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid, met with the Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Office in New York, Ms. Elise Nicole Muscoini.

According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Sudan and the ICRC. Ambassador Khalid expressed Sudan's gratitude for the Red Cross's efforts both within Sudan and globally. He emphasized the increased need for these efforts due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan, especially regarding the exchange of civilian and military detainees. The discussion also touched on the situation of Sudanese nationals in Libya and Syria and the potential role of the Red Cross in these matters.

Ms. Muscoini acknowledged the cooperation from the Sudanese government, which facilitates the ICRC's work, and she confirmed their commitment to continue providing necessary assistance across all relevant areas.
