New York:The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi El-Din Salem, held a meeting with His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See and Prime Minister of the Vatican, during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussions centered on the current developments in Sudan, with a focus on the government's efforts to secure peace. Ambassador Salem detailed the violations perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces militia against civilians since the conflict began, including the genocide in El Geneina and El Fasher.
Cardinal Parolin expressed his concern for the situation in Sudan, voicing his hope for peace in the region. He emphasized his commitment to aiding in the cessation of the conflict and curbing external support that fuels its persistence.
