Foreign Minister Affirms Cooperation with New UNFPA Representative in Sudan

Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Salim, welcomed Ms. Fabrizia Falsione, the newly appointed Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to Sudan, during a meeting in his office on Monday. The occasion marked the official accreditation of Ms. Falsione to her new role.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister expressed the Sudanese Government’s commitment to collaborate with Ms. Falsione and support her mission throughout her tenure in the country. He acknowledged the continuous services provided by the UNFPA office in Sudan, especially during the challenging period of war.

Ms. Falsione conveyed her appreciation to the Government of Sudan for her nomination and expressed her eagerness to work closely with Sudanese authorities. She emphasized her familiarity with the situation in Sudan and the wider region, attributing it to her prior experience, and committed to ensuring the success of her mission in the country.
