Diphtheria Vaccination Campaign Concludes After Reaching 2,074,503 People in Six States

Khartoum: The Federal Chamber for the Diphtheria Vaccination Campaign held its concluding session on Friday, announcing that 2,074,503 individuals were vaccinated across the six targeted states during the campaign period, representing 99.7% of the total target population of 2,081,275.

According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting reviewed reports from communication officers outlining the work of federal supervisors, alongside updates on health-promotion activities, supply-chain management, monitoring of post-vaccination side effects, and case surveillance throughout the campaign. The chamber reaffirmed the safety of the vaccine and noted that it was administered free of charge.

The campaign was conducted from November 22 to 27, 2025, and covered the following states: River Nile State (second round); Kassala State (first round, including Kassala, New Halfa, Khashm El-Girba, and Atbara); Northern State (Dongola, Merowe, and Al-Dabba); Khartoum State (Karari); Red Sea State (Haya); and Blue Nile State (Al-Damazin).
