Campaign to Combat Starlings Set to Launch on Island

This initiative is being coordinated with the Federal General Administration for Plant Protection and supported by the Government of Al-Jazirah State.According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Arafa Mahmoud, the Minister of Production and Economic Resources in Al-Jazirah State, stated that the bird control campaign is part of ongoing efforts to protect agricultural crops from pests. The goal is to ensure a successful agricultural season and secure food resources.Engineer Al-Sir Muhammad Al-Amin, Director of the General Administration for Plant Protection in Al-Jazirah, confirmed that all preparations for the aerial spraying campaign are complete. The campaign is set to begin at the start of next week, and he expressed gratitude to the Al-Jazirah State government and the local administration of East Al-Jazirah for their support. Farmers in Al-Jazirah State have been urged to report any sig htings of colia bird nests to the nearest agricultural office in their administrative units.
