Khartoum: Commander Al-Nour Ahmed Adam, known as Al-Noor Al-Goba, announced that his forces are ready to move to the front lines to support the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in their efforts to liberate Darfur and Kordofan from rebellion. He emphasized the alignment of 70% of militia members with the army, despite their fears of execution or torture for defecting.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Goba spoke during a seminar on defections within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The event, titled 'Return to the Bosom of the Homeland: The Path to Peace,' was organized by the Kordofan and Darfur Media Professionals Association, in cooperation with the Sudan News Agency (SUNA). It took place at the Omdurman Cultural Center and was held under the auspices of the Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minawi, with oversight by the Minister of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities, Khalid Al-Eisir, and South Darfur State Wali, Bashir Abdullah Morsal.
Al-Goba highlighted his success in persuading several commanders who had defected from the militia to return. He noted that the number of returnees exceeds the forces under his current command. He reiterated that 70% of those within the militia's ranks support the army, but face severe consequences such as execution or imprisonment for any deviation from the militia's directives.
He further claimed that the decision to initiate the conflict was made by the rebel leader Hemedti, with the backing of foreign countries, with an intent to destabilize the nation.
