Al-Mansouri Inspects Veterinary Laboratories, Genetic Resources Centres

Khartoum: Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri emphasized the critical need for Sudan to indigenize veterinary vaccine production through collaborations with strategic partners.

According to Sudan News Agency, the minister's comments were made during an inspection visit to the Veterinary Research Laboratories in Soba. During the visit, he toured the facility's divisions and held an expanded meeting with senior officials, where he received a detailed briefing on the preparations for launching vaccine production, planned for mid-June. Al-Mansouri assured full support for the initiative and vowed to address any obstacles that might hinder the project.

The minister also visited the Animal Production Research Centre in Hilat-Koko and the Animal Genetic Resources Management. He highlighted the ministry's heavy reliance on genetic improvement to enhance production and productivity, emphasizing that animal resources are steadily growing and are a crucial part of economic development.

Al-Mansouri noted that the current phase in the country demands sacrifices from all involved to achieve the set goals. He praised efforts aimed at enhancing the ministry's work environment.

In a separate inspection, the minister examined the molasses cubes project, which he reported had been targeted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He described the attack as systematic sabotage and a war crime under the law. The minister called for a feasibility study to establish a new factory adhering to international standards for molasses production and pledged ongoing support until the project is operational.
