Al-Eisir Mourns SUNA El-Fashir Office Director Assassinated by Rebel Militia

Al-fashir: The Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, has extended his heartfelt condolences following the martyrdom of Taj Al-Sir Ahmed Suleiman, Director of the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) office in the city of El-Fashir, who was assassinated inside his home by the rebel militia along with his brother.

According to Sudan News Agency, Khalid Al-Eisir expressed profound sorrow and grief in offering his condolences on behalf of himself and the staff of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism. He paid tribute to Taj Al-Sir Ahmed Suleiman, highlighting his dedication and commitment to journalism, which he maintained under challenging conditions until his assassination by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the Al-Daraga neighborhood.

The minister emphasized Taj Al-Sir’s steadfastness in upholding journalistic values and principles, even as he disappeared when the rebel militia entered the city. Al-Eisir prayed for the late director and his brother, seeking Allah’s me
rcy and eternal rest for them.

Additionally, the minister called for the release of detained and missing journalists, urging international organizations to protect media professionals and ensure their safety. He emphasized the importance of these organizations taking responsibility for following up on the case of journalists abducted and transferred to detention centers by the militia in Nyala.
