Al-Burhan Praises Role of Creatives, Artists, Journalists in ‘Battle of Dignity,’ Urges Stronger National Unity

Khartoum: The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has commended the pioneering role of artists, creatives, dramatists, and journalists in supporting the 'Battle of Dignity,' affirming that art and the written word constitute an essential front in defending the state.

According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Burhan made these remarks while addressing the 'Engagement with Creatives' program, held Thursday evening as part of efforts to address the impact of the war, at the International Space for Culture and Media Center. The event was attended by the Director of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and the Director General of the Defense Industries System, General Mirghani Idris.

Al-Burhan called on all creatives to assume their national responsibility during the current phase by promoting a culture of peace and working to reject regionalism and racism. He emphasized that the 'Battle of Dignity' has demonstrated the unity and cohesion of the Sudanese people in support of the armed forces, adding that the entire territory of Sudan would soon be liberated. He envisioned a future where no one bears arms, advocating for internal resolution of issues and highlighting Sudan's richness in people, heritage, and culture.

The TSC President expressed appreciation for the positive stance of the Sudanese people and their support for the armed forces. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting and nurturing creatives and pledged to provide the necessary backing for the establishment and development of artistic and cultural institutions as centers of awareness and nation-building.

He urged journalists to rise above peripheral disputes and focus on national priorities, stressing the importance of accuracy while cautioning against the dissemination of unverified information. He encouraged reliance on official and credible sources, underscoring the pivotal role of the press in raising awareness and combating hate speech and regional divisions.

Al-Burhan concluded by noting that Sudan faces challenging circumstances as hostile actors seek to undermine the country's unity and cohesion. He expressed confidence that the Sudanese people's awareness of these risks would thwart plots aimed at destabilizing the country and undermining its unity, stability, and sovereignty.
