Khartoum: The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, engaged in a telephone conversation with Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
According to Sudan News Agency, the discussion centered around the ongoing situation in Sudan, particularly in the wake of the rebellion by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The leaders also addressed the perspectives of various countries and regional organizations concerning the conflict. Al-Burhan emphasized the critical need for African solidarity and mutual support to confront rebellions and proxy wars within the continent. He highlighted the importance of tackling such issues decisively to prevent them from recurring in other African regions.
Al-Burhan expressed the significance of learning from President Kagame and Rwanda's experiences, particularly given the country's past ordeals with genocide and crimes against humanity. He drew parallels to the challenges Sudan is facing with the RSF militia's actions against its people. President Kagame, in turn, expressed his support for the Sudanese people and government, wishing for enduring stability in Sudan. He also noted the importance of fostering cooperation and strengthening relations between Rwanda and Sudan.
