46 Martyrs and 10 Wounded in Antonov Plane Crash

Khartoum: The number of martyrs from the Antonov plane crash in the Al-Iskan Al-Hara district has reached 46, with 10 individuals wounded following the incident that occurred on Wednesday evening. The tragic event also resulted in significant destruction to residential properties in the area.

According to Sudan News Agency, the authorities completed the removal of debris from the affected houses, finalizing the list of casualties. The Ministry of Health in Khartoum State responded promptly, deploying ambulances to the crash site to transport the injured for medical treatment. Concurrently, the morgue at Al-Naw Hospital received 19 bodies of those who perished in the crash.

Efforts are ongoing to search for additional victims beneath the debris. Among the injured are civilians, including two children-one an infant-who are currently receiving medical care. The Ministry of Health is overseeing their treatment and recovery process.

Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, the Director General and Acting Minister of
the Ministry of Health, extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. He expressed his hope for divine mercy for the martyrs and wished a swift recovery for those injured. The health officials, including Dr. Ahmed Al-Bashir Fadlallah, the head of the Therapeutic Medicine Department at Al-Naw Hospital, and the hospital’s General Director, Dr. Jamal Al-Tayib, have been present at the hospital to manage the situation and support the victims’ families.
